FLORIDA FRESHWATER FISH SPECIES IDENTIFICATION

Florida's freshwater fishes in numbers: nearly 170 species have been recorded including 25 endemic species and 24 introduced or exotic species. There are over 3 million acres of ponds, lakes and reservoirs, but also about 15,000 miles of canals, rivers and streams. All this without counting the immense area of fresh and brackish water of the Everglades.
